Gag Haolam, Guest House of Ofra and Tzemach Ben Aharon

Shalom to all of our visitors

Ofra and I live in Moshav Givat Ya’arim in the mountains outside of Jerusalem.

We would like to invite you to an extraordinary experience in our guest house on our “Rooftop of the World” that we call Gag Ha'olam.

In 2005 we designed and built our rooftop.

Over the past years, we used the rooftop for social and family gatherings. As the years went by, mostly friends and family joined with us together on our rooftop to enjoy the fresh mountain air with all of our spiritual and physical senses. With time, we saw the potential for our rooftop, and began hosting non-profit events.

In 2009 we officially established our Gag Ha'olam. 'Rooftop of the World'

We started by hosting evenings of holistic treatments, where we invited holistic practitioners from many fields to come and share their expertise. These evenings were so successful that we continued to hold these and other workshops. We ate and enjoyed ourselves together during various evenings of “wine and cheese”. We hosted excellent events, including stand-up performances and our very special end of the year party. The most unique events we have hosted have been our evenings of singing together on our Gag Ha'olam – with our most recent party last May.

In 2004, we began to host summer parties on our rooftop and in our garden.

While we held our lively summer party down in our yard, we used our Gag Ha'olam to raise funds for charities. There we held holistic and relaxing self-awareness and personal-development workshops. We also screened the film, "The Secret.”

In 2012, we put all of our energy into further developing our Gag Ha'olam. We designed the rooftop to be used in a variety ways to host guests.
In our guest house, there is very large bedroom especially equipped to host couples, a huge living room that can accommodate up to 15 people to sleep comfortably on beds and mattresses

and a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and stove. The rooftop has air-conditioning and central heating in both the living room and bedroom. The roof balcony terrace is70 meters and has a breathtaking view, with a Jacuzzi and fully-equipped barbecue corner.

Gag Haolom – Inbal 29, Givat Ya’arim

Moshav Givat Yearim is strategically located:

7 minutes from Mevasseret Zion,15 minutes from Jerusalem via Ein Kerem, and15 minutes from Beit Shemesh.

The moshav has many attractions, such as horseback riding and mini-tractor rides. There is a nice grocery store that is open most of the day and evening.

On Saturdays, you can enjoy the 'Jachnun of Simcha'. A traditional Yemenite eatery located in the orchards at the entrance to the moshav (walking distance from the guesthouse). There is also another outdoor eatery there 'Between the olive trees'. These two amazing orchards (בוסתנים) are famous throughout the region.

Also, if you would prefer to have meals provided to you at the guest house, then our neighbor 'Gabriella' an American/Israeli will be happy to cook them up for you and bring them to your table. Her specialties include: traditional Yemenite foods, homemade breads, nutritious vegetarian meals and a large variety of freshly made fruit or vegetable juices. All the food is Kosher and can be meat, dairy or vegan.

The moshav has a number of observation points with wonderful views. On a clear day, you can see Ashkelon, Tel Aviv, and Netanya to the west, Jerusalem to the east, Tsur Hadassah to the south, and Abu Ghost and Neve Ilan to the north.

1 km away from the moshav is Kibbutz Tzuba where you can visit the famous “Kef-Tzuba” a family interactive attraction.
